ARTIST CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Program Facilitators:

Doranda Martin & Chondra Williams

Program Description:

The Artist Career Development Program is a Zoom-based business skills development training series specifically designed for the professional career demands of diverse artists. Our workshop program offers an intensive study into essential business topics related to business formation, internal operating systems, funding structure, employees, marketing & promotion, customers, grant writing, financial statements, legal considerations, and more. This in-class workshop based program combines lectures, open group discussions, and subject quizzes to help ensure that students leave with a basic operating blueprint to legally start and get their business running. Students will be armed with the essential business knowledge and skills necessary to confidently establishing and sustain a self-employment venture.

Due to the generous support of grants and sponsorships, we offer this program for free to the students. Students are only required to purchase their textbook. This much needed investment in the independent career establishment of artists helps to eliminate the barriers of location and cost in allowing free, nation-wide access to the invaluable knowledge and skills delivered by this program. Early sign-up is always encouraged as space will be limited to 30 students per session. This helps the facilitators to secure the ability to be attentive and care for the developmental needs of each student through quality service.
